UL 6500 Audio/Video and Musical Instrument Apparatus for Household, Commercial, and Similar General Use

The purpose of this standard applies to electronic apparatus designed to be fed from the MAINS or from a SUPPLY APPARATUS and intended for reception, generation, recording or reproduction respectively of audio, video and associated signals. It also applies to apparatus designed to be used exclusively in combination with the above mentioned apparatus. It applies to apparatus with a RATED SUPPLY VOLTAGE not exceeding 250 V a.c. single phase or d.c. supply and 433 V a.c. in the case of apparatus for connection to a supply other than single phase. It applies to apparatus for use at altitudes not exceeding 2000 m above sea level, primarily in dry locations and in regions with moderate or tropical climates.
